Leadership is not something reserved to CEOs or politicians in fancy suits, leadership is for everyone who wants to make something amazing and impactful.

In this post I’m going to share 4 tips that will make you a better leader!

It might be for your business, your family, some organization or just a group of friends, if you want something to work effectively – it needs a leader.

Tip #1 – Focus On Them

Maybe the number one reason most people are scared of claiming leadership in most situations is that they are afraid of being judged or are afraid of taking the blame when things will eventually go wrong.

This focus on what will people think about me could be paralyzing.

Instead, do your best to focus on others, ask yourself constantly – how can I give more, how can I make things better for them…

Answering these questions will definitely give you an amazing start and will put you in a better emotional state for leadership.

Tip #2 – Do Not Expect Anything In Return

Leaders get a lot in return!

But, if people feel like your help is about getting stuff back – they will hate it.

Think about it, do you like it when someone helps you and then asks for a favor? Especially if suddenly assumes you owe him one?

Most people in most circumstances would prefer not receiving this help in the first place.

Remember leadership is about helping.

Tip #3 – Do Not Forget About Yourself.

Powerful leaders will do a lot to help but they will have their own limits and boundaries.

They will simply communicate when they do not want to do something.

they won’t whine, or complain, they won’t do it and then hold it against you.

They will simply say: “I will!” or “I Won’t!”

It is crucially important that you find out what’s right and what’s wrong for you, what you are willing and what you are not willing to do.

And it’s crucially important that you put yourself first, not like putting your interests above someone else’s interests – but like putting your rules and values above everything else.

Since you are not expecting anything in return, you must make sure that you take care of yourself.

Because if you do not take care of yourself, you will not be able to take care of anyone else.

Tip #4 – Trust Yourself & Maintain This Trust When You Make Mistakes.

Maybe the hardest thing about leadership is self-confidence.

Almost all negative behaviors on behalf of leaders are rooted in low self-esteem. Most people who act overconfident are actually simply insecure people trying to pass as confident.

Trusting yourself gets easy when things go right and you should make sure you are not getting drunk over your own @#$% but it gets really hard when things go wrong.

Make sure you have the right people around you and the right skills and knowledge to help you recover quickly.
